Anathemas are chimeras, hideous beasts created from the parts of various monsters that were surgically attached together. They must have been created on purpose, but by who? And for what purpose?
In Greek mythology, the Chimera is a creature composed of the parts of various animals. The mythical Chimera is a lion with a goat’s head and a snake for a tail. “Chimera” has since become a term used to describe creatures created from various parts like its namesake.
